Mapping Soil Organic Carbon in Floodplain Farmland: Implications of Effective Range of Environmental Variables

چکیده
Accurately mapping soil organic carbon (SOC) is conducive to evaluating storage and quality. However, the high spatial heterogeneity of SOC caused by river-related factors agricultural management brings challenges digital in floodplain farmland. Moreover, current studies focus on non-linear relationship between covariates, but ignore effective range environmental variables SOC, which prevents revelation differentiation mechanism. Using 375 samples collected from Jiangchang Town near Han River, we aim determine main controlling reveal variables, obtain map using gradient boosting decision tree (GBDT) model partial dependence plots. Linear regression was used as a reference. Results showed that GBDT outperformed linear regression. results show distance river most important factor, confirming importance River pattern. The plots indicate all have their ranges, when values are extremely or low, they do not respond changes SOC. Specifically, influential ranges rivers, irrigation canals, rural settlements were within 4000, 200, 50 m, respectively. peak obtained with clay (≥31%), total nitrogen (≥1.18 g/kg), potassium contents (≥11.1 it remained steady these covariates further increased. These highlight revealing provides data support for understanding pattern farmland, achieving sequestration farmland precision agriculture. plot fitting mapping.

Holistic environmental soil-landscape modeling of soil organic carbon
In environmental soil-landscape modeling (ESLM), the selection of predictive variables is commonly contingent on the researchers’ domain expertise on soileenvironment processes. This variable selection strategy may suffer bias or even fail in regions where the process knowledge is insufficient. To overcome this problem, this study demonstrates a holistic ESLM framework which consists of five co...

cement is an essential ingredient in the concrete buildings. for production of cement considerable amount of fossil fuel and electrical energy is consumed. on the other hand for generating one tone of portland cement, nearly one ton of carbon dioxide is released. it shows that 7 percent of the total released carbon dioxide in the world relates to the cement industry. considering ecological issu...
High Nature Value Farmland: Assessment of Soil Organic Carbon in Europe
High Nature Value Farmland (HNVF) is commonly associated with low intensity agricultural systems. HNVFs cover ∼32% of the agricultural land in Europe and are of strategic importance for the European Union policy since they are reservoirs of biodiversity and provide several ecosystem services. Carbon sequestration is an important service that can be supplied by HNVFs as addressed in this study. ...
متن کاملDynamics of soil organic carbon mineralization in tea plantations converted from farmland at Western Sichuan, China
Climate warming and land use change are some of the drivers affecting soil organic carbon (SOC) dynamics. The Grain for Green Project, local natural resources, and geographical conditions have resulted in farmland conversion into tea plantations in the hilly region of Western Sichuan. However, the effect of such land conversion on SOC mineralization remains unknown. In order to understand the t...
